Amy snapped a photo of a sure sign of summer. Kaity & her husband, Bobby celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary at The Columbia, a historic restaurant in Tampa's Ybor City. How pretty is Courtney's new pillow? You can't tell from the photo, but it smells like fresh pine. Antoinette experienced the treat of a 3 hour Sir Paul McCartney concert! More on our big BBQ next week, but Allison shared this fun photo of the spread.
Being the paper nerds we are, we're thrilled about our new stock types - heavier weights, shimmering finishes, creamy and traditional ecru stocks- and they are all FSC certified and partially recycled. What more could you ask for? Kaity hung our ink charts on her wall in each paper type so she could cozy up to our vibrant colors. For a limited time, we're offering 2 free samples so you can see our paper in person. We all have our favorite bands to design to, to dance to, to live to. Mine for all three, and for everything ever, is The Wallflowers. Jakob Dylan is by far my favorite song writer of all time and I met him on Saturday evening after his show at the Funshine Music Festival. "Are you shaking? Please don't be shaking," he asked, smiling. I'm still kind of shaking. If you have not heard Glad All Over yet, please, please check it out. Antoinette celebrates Greek Easter with her family - Greekster as we love to call it! Her mom, and our favorite IC fan, decorated this adorable cake she found on Pinterest. Courtney has the cutest handwriting. It has appeared on many invitations including the popular Baby Stripes design. She put her illustration to good use in making her mom a charming card.
Happy Mother's Day to all of our moms, grandmas, sisters, aunts, friends, and every sweet loving spirit who takes care of others.
I recently found a delicious recipe for 'lemony lemon brownies' on - where else - Pinterest! The ingredient list is super simple, and you probably have most of it on hand already!
flour (3/4 cup)
granulated sugar (3/4 cup)
eggs (2)
butter (1 stick)
lemon zest (2 t)
lemon juice (2 T, optional - another 2 T for a glaze)
powdered sugar (1 cup)
Mix your sugar, flour and softened butter together using a stand mixer, if you have one. In a separate bowl, whisk together the juice, zest and eggs. And the liquid mixture to your dough and combine. Pour into a greased pan and bake at 350 for 23-25 minutes - that's it!
Once the 'brownies' are done, let them cool and mix up your glaze (if you like). Start with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and slowly add lemon juice until you've got the texture right. It's a lot of trial and error and adding more sugar, adding more juice, until you find that perfect balance!
I prefer to glaze individual servings, or you could cover the whole pan. Now you're ready to enjoy this sweet and tart dessert! The Lemon Zig Zag Recipe Card is perfect for sharing this with family and friends.
I'm definitely going to try this same recipe with orange juice and zest - and maybe if I'm daring...lime!
These past couple of weeks have been quite busy! A couple of us have been jet-setting: Courtney to Nashville, me to NY. Amy and Kaity both shared their FL pride: Amy through the Florida Wedding Expo where she met tons of local brides and Kaity traveled to Gainesville to visit her alma mater.
Check out our instagrammed-adventures:
Have a very fun weekend, folks (snap some photos!)
Our team had another big week or so! From charity events, to visits with friends, and even an international trip (check out Kaity's European photos below)!
Kaity got a PUPPY!! Lucky duck, right?! Also pictured, the pretty printed pieces for Thank You Card Week. Get your free thank you cards here, and let us know who you are grateful for! How gorgeous is Antoinette's scene at the beach? Amy had a sweet Valentine's day! Finally, I was lucky enough to go to a stache bash last weekend! So much fun!
Antoinette went to Europe over the New Year.... just soak in the gorgeousness above. Amy had a cousin's party where they all wore plaid - what a fun theme! Also, she went cosmic bowling, which is pretty groovy. I've been trying to kick caffiene, but in the meantime, when I do get coffee it's a special event. Also photographed, my pink luggage tag that I got over a year ago, that I still love. Kaity is all about the patterns these days... and how sweet is her new personalized stationery?
Allison kicked off the new year with a road trip in the Southeast including stops at Lake Oconee in Georgia and Restoration on King in Charleston. Also, Allison snapped a photo of our new creative wing which is being built at our new offices (more on that later!) Courtney adores holiday card season. Also pictured, winter boots from a recent trip to Chicago, and the the cutest little Christmas puppy. Kaity got the best Christmas present: she's getting a puppy!!!! Also photo'd, snippets from her New Year's trip to New Orleans. One of our designers, Brittany, gave me this amazing Q&A book that allows space for writing answers to daily questions for up to 5 years! I'm so excited about this. I also instagrammed my sparkly New Year's Eve shoes, and my little sound system from my side gig as a Team Trivia hostess.
