We love all of our Guest Designers, but as our program is national, it's very rare that we get to meet with a designer in person! That's just one of the reasons we were thrilled to hear from Kimberly Bryant, a talented designer who happens to drive by our Design Studio on her daily commute. It was obvious after chatting about design that Kim would be a perfect fit for designing party invitations and announcements. Her initial collection is full of colorful children's designs with unique and fun themes. Check them out, and get to know Kim a little better below!
If you could design an invitation for any style icon throughout history who would it be and what would it look like?
Jackie O. Bright spring colors and clean, Lily Pulitzer style or a geometric pattern like one of her scarves.
As an art director in an advertising agency, what is the biggest difference between designing for a client and designing an invitation?
Having the freedom to design what you want and not having to make the client's changes makes it more fun. But that freedom also makes it much more challenging because I go back to the piece several times before I am happy with the final invite.
You're throwing a party and you have an unlimited budget: what three things are must-haves?
The first would be to hire The Great Gatsby as my party planner and I would leave the rest up to him.
What are the most prized items on your desk?
Family photos & headphones
Do you read any design or style blogs, and if so, what are your favorites?
Pinterest, Kuler, Designspiration, and Girls Gone Child
