Ever go to a friend's house and say something along the lines of "Wow, I love that! Where did you get it?". I do that, frequently. It can be easy to find a kindred spirit when you are in someone's home. From little accessories, to the big stuff, like fixtures and rugs, it's always fun to see how your friends and family decide to fill their space.
One of my favorite party ideas for the New Year is a Décor Swap Party. It's pretty simple: invite your friends to pick something from their home that they love, but may be ready to part with. From a frame to a bowl, there is something they inevitably may be tired of (or just happy to share!). Have them bring it to a soiree where guests will trade home goods to their hearts content. To make it fair, you could organize it like a White Elephant exchange: everyone chooses a number, picks when it's their turn, then the person who picked first gets one last trade or pick at the end. An easy as pie and fun way to refresh your home with things that will always remind you of your friends!
