Every year we have a morning of breakfast and a holiday movie classic voted on by everyone. This year the breakfast was a little different in that it was at 2:00 pm and we had an ulterior motive - we heard about a collection of snowflakes to display when the kids of Sandy Hook go back to school and immediately everyone was on board with joining in! We turned our annual movie breakfast into a snowflake movie craft & snack! Just as fun - maybe even better?!
This year we cut tissue paper snowflakes to Home Alone and inevitably quoted almost every line right along with the movie.
Audrey schooled us in the art of snowflake crafting and while we all tried, she still wins for craftiest snowflake cutter!
This is our last day in the office before Christmas! This year has brought us much joy, and it is really fun to look back on the Instagram diaries! We hope you all had a beautiful year, and that you snapped some photos along the way!
Above, Kaity shared her holiday party personalized wine bottle labels. Her guests were super impressed. Also, her blue hued Christmas tree and her very spirited UF ornament collection.
Below, I photographed my holiday bar with my holiday party invitation. My holiday card was quite the project this year (I couldn't make up my mind!), but I love how it turned out. Finally, the color run came to town! Any color runners out there? Courtney + her hubby celebrated their first Hanukkah as a married couple- her menorah is beautiful! She also has started planning her wedding photo album - we can't wait to see. Courtney also Instagrammed one of our production assistant, Kelly Ann's holiday cookies based off our of popular Santa VIP Pass invitation! How gorgeous is Amy's holiday card with her wedding photo? Just perfect! Also snapped: the refreshed inspiration board from team Gamma, and some festive hot cocoa. Allison's kids have been finding their little elf in the craziest places this year! Also pictured: our colorful meeting from this week's planning session, and some sweet golf themed party accessories. Antoinette bought herself a colorful Christmas treat this year - how cute are those flats? She also baked us all some yummy salted caramel chocolate macaroons for the holiday cookie exchange. Happy weekend, happy holidays, stay safe and warm - all of you beautiful readers!!!
There are still lots of holiday parties to attend, so if you're looking for guidance on how to be the best holiday party guest - look no further! We've got five fabulous tips to keep you on the nice (and future invitee) list!
RSVP: This seems simple, but it's easy to forget when we're all so busy. Make sure the host or hostess knows you'll be attending and if you're bringing a guest. Headcounts are important for their prepartion.
Bright a gift: A bottle of wine is the perfect host or hostess gift because even if they don't partake, they can serve it to their guests! A personalized wine label is a delightful finishing touch to your vino.
Go with the flow: If there's a theme, indulge your host or hostess and dress for the occasion! Don your ugliest sweater, or sparkliest get-up, or most alluring mask and join the fun!
Mingle: So you don't know anyone at this party aside from the host or hostess? Fix that! Don't burden your host or hostess with personally entertaining you all night - they've got work to do. Mix and mingle and get to know the other guests. Who knows, you could make some new friends in the process!
Say "thanks!": Sending a thank you note after the party is a wonderful way to share your gratitude for attending, and to tell the host or hostess what a great time you had. Hosting a party can be stressful, so knowing your guests enjoyed themselves is a relief - and encouragement to host again!
I might still be on a sugar high from all the delicious treats I tasted yesterday! It was time again for the Invitation Consultants Sometimes-Annual Cookie Exchange! We had a delightful assortment of sweets, from truffles to macaroons, fudge to whoopie pies - and of course, cookies. I've included snapshots of a few of our concoctions here!
Courtney made pumpkin whoopie pies (per request), since we've all been raving about them since last year. Jamie made raspberry almond shortbread cookies, which Olivier declared his favorite of the bunch immediately.
Reilly made mini s'mores pies (and I ate three!) while Allison brought in a delicious lemon iced cake!
Everyone grabbed sweets to bring home (or to eat at their desk...) and labeled them with our super cute holiday cookie stickers!
Do you have cookie exchanges at work or with neighbors?
In case you didn't order in time for the holidays, gifts for your best friend are always in style. A new year, a birthday, or 'just because' are all wonderful reasons to gift something fabulous. Visit our Holiday Pop Shop for all of your best friend basics. Don't we all need a personalized travel mug or recipe card? Yes, indeed! Your best friend will thank you later.
This year's holiday party theme - and the theme of our Pop Shop - is "A little sparkle, a lot of cheer!" and Amy - our party planner du jour - did not disappoint! We had a delightful private dinner in South Tampa and Amy (and her committee) pulled out all the stops to make the event truly memorable. She made the tissue paper garland that adorned the doorway, as well asglittery swizzle sticks and photo ornaments from our favorite events of 2012.
Allison shared her annual IC poem to reminisce and laugh about the year gone by, and our teams (Gamma, Kappa and Zeta) presented gifts to their leading ladies.
Jeopardy and Pictionary are IC party staples and our competitive nature came out during the game portion of the evening. We're so lucky to have our talented design team serve as the designated 'drawers' during Pictionary - but that doesn't mean we aren't yelling out all kinds of wrong answers before finally guessing "Ryan Gosling" to score some points!
We had our Secret Santa gift exchange (complete with dance solos for incorrect guesses) before the traditional awkward ornament exchange. The ornaments are exchanged "dirty santa" style and there was quite a bit of negotiating and bargaining before the night was over.
The one-armed elf (at least we think that's what he or she is...) featured above has been making the rounds of the ornament exchange for years!
We had such a fabulous night and can't believe there's only one week until Christmas Eve! What's the theme of your holiday party this year?
New Pink Initiative holiday cards are here! These designs are not only adorable - but they support a wonderful cause: The Pink Initiative. We've been working with this breast cancer charity for years and are so happy to add to the collection of cards and invitations that support the cause.
The new year is right around the corner! I know, it's hard to believe 2012 is coming to a close, but I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store. Every new year calls for a new calendar - how else are you supposed to keep track of appointments, birthdays and other VIP details? Check out our newest calendar cards to be sure 2013 starts off on the right track!
Sending a calendar card is also a great alternative to the traditional holiday card. Personalize your favorite design with a photo or company logo. Looking for a unique gift?
