Welcome our own Amy to the Fab*Bride family! We are so elated to show you gorgeous Amy on her wedding day to Vince. Her dress is so unique and Elizabeth Greve Photography was able to capture Amy's loveliness to a "t." Let's ask Amy a few questions...
Lots of emotions run through your mind the week, the day, the morning of, and right before you get married. Tell us about how you were feeling in those final moments leading up to your big day through the moment you said your “I Do’s.” It was kind of surreal finally getting to the “big day.” I woke up, had coffee, and began by writing a note to Vince. I waited to write it because I wanted all the happiness and emotion I was feeling to come through my words to him. After that, each part of getting ready process got me more and more excited that I was getting married. The girls and I got our nails and hair done together, and then headed over to the mansion to finish getting ready. When the photographer arrived, I think I had permagrin. I was so happy to be marrying my favorite person and being around everyone I loved.
Now that the wedding is done and has been photographed so seamlessly, what was/were your favorite detail(s) of the wedding? I have so many favorite parts - I loved getting ready, having our first look (which I highly recommend!), walking down the aisle with my Dad, and saying our vows. Everything was amazing.
If you could cast a Hollywood starlet to play you in a movie all about your wedding, who would you cast in the lead role? Who would you cast as your now-husband? For me, I would probably want Rachel McAdams because she’s smart and kind of sassy. For Vince, I have to say Mark Ruffalo because people always think he looks like him and he’s cute :)
Describe a Fab*Bride (YOU!) in 3 words: Over-the-moon happy. 4 words.
Something borrowed? I wore my Mom’s pearl bracelet as my something borrowed.
Something blue? As a shower gift, my Grandmother gave me a handkerchief stitched with a bouquet design and a blue A initial. For the wedding, I had this tied around my bouquet.
Something old? My parents went to England when I was little and bought a silver sixpence - I had this taped in my shoe! There’s a rhyme that goes something like “Something borrowed, something blue, stick a sixpence in your shoe…” and it’s for good luck. I also wore pearl earrings I got for my 21st birthday.
Something new? I had a lot of new….my dress, my shoes, my simple veil (which I loved, it made me feel like a bride), and a beautiful garter a family friend made for me.
Something beautiful? I am in LOVE with my dress. I love that it’s so unique and I felt totally amazing wearing it.
Something yummy? I have to say, our food was pretty yummy and our cake was delish – half lemon cake with lemon curd filling, half yellow sponge cake filled with chocolate mousse, coffee and Grand Marnier, both frosted in white french buttercream.
Something touching? Having everyone I loved there to celebrate with me + Vince. It’s not very often I get to have both friends AND family together.
Something funny? While taking photos, my Grandma Mary commented on how long my hair had gotten. I told her I was wearing extensions for the day and she burst out laughing. My photographer captured this in some of the photos and her reaction always makes me smile.
Special thanks to Amy for her candid answers and Elizabeth for gorgeous photos! Let's end with...
