Happy Thursday! This week's Fab*Bride is a gorgeous girl by the name of Ariana. She was nominated by Megan and Cedar of MnC Events in Orlando, Florida, who happen to be twin sisters and fabulous event coordinators. Not only are they wonderful at pulling together all the details of special events, but they happen to be great friends too! I have known them since high school and they are also good friends of the bride. To make things even sweeter, today is their birthday! So I dedicate this Fab*Bride post to them. The photos below were taken by Nikki Rosa Photography, a talented central Florida photographer who graciously said that...
"Ariana is just about the most interesting person you'll have the chance to meet. Every selection that she made for the wedding was simple, elegant and had timeless beauty..just like Ariana herself. The most enjoyable part, for me, was having the opportunity to observe how much her family and friends love her. When I first met her and we talked about wedding photography she had a very clear vision of what she did and didn't want for her and Trey's wedding. Not many people can give you such clear creative vision, it's very refreshing and exciting to work with."
Without further ado, our newest addition to the Fab*Bride family, Ariana!
What was the driving inspiration or concept behind your wedding? I'm a huge fan of simple, chic, modern style in my everyday life, so when we planned our wedding for a date in the Spring, I knew that was exactly the direction I wanted to go in while stile staying true to that time of year.
Tell us about your search for the perfect wedding dress. I started looking for a dress almost immediately. I tried on a ton of dresses and always paused to see if I got teary eyed or chills because I heard that's what's supposed to happen, but that never happened. Instead, I tried on a dress one day that I never actually thought I'd like and as soon as I looked in the mirror, I didn't want to take it off...because it made me look great! I later felt like I wanted to show a different side of my "style" at the reception, so I got a second dress that was completely different from the first and I'm so happy I made that decision. I think wedding dresses should be more about yourself and feeling and looking the best you ever have, and less about thinking you're supposed to feel anything more than that ;)
How did you go about accessorizing to finalize your look? I never wanted a strapless dress but inevitably I ended up with one so I bought a second veil with beautiful detail on it and used it to make straps. It was perfect and gorgeous! For the reception dress, I got a ribbon to tie around my waist and a beautiful brooch that I put in the center. As far as jewelry, I have pretty simple taste so I just wore diamond stud earrings, my grandmothers engagement ring and actually wrapped a diamond necklace around my wrist to create a thick bracelet. It was just enough for me.
How did your wedding invitations tie into your overall wedding concept? My colors were black, white and lime green and my invitations followed the same color scheme while keeping with the modern simplicity that I wanted.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life as a bride-to-be to now-bride, which starlet would you want to play you in the lead role? Lea Michelle from Glee! And I'd want it to be a musical!
Describe a Fab*Bride (you!) in three words. Innovative, confident, creative
Something borrowed? My beautiful diamond stud earrings that belonged to my step-dad's mom (she later revealed she was letting me keep them).
Something blue? My garter ;)
Something old? My grandmother's engagement ring which I wore on my right hand. She passed away years ago so it felt nice to kind of have her there with me.
Something new? My dresses!
Something beautiful? My makeup...because without out it I'm hideous! (We highly disagree!)
Something yummy? The cheese polenta cake that accompanied our steak (best side item EVER).
Something touching? The amazing friends that selflessly helped me put my wedding details together. Without them, I would've been impossible.
Something funny? The dancing! We have ridiculously funny friends that did quite a number of choreographed dances that night.
Thank you to all who contributed to this fabulous wedding: Megan, Cedar, Nikki and Ariana. We loved the simple-chic decor and the lime green is the perfect pop of color for this spunky bride's vision. Everyone did an absolutely wonderful job. Let's end with a few...
