I. CANNOT. WAIT. FOR. SUMMER.
How about you? I think about the beach out of nowhere and get the longing feeling to jump in my car and not stop driving until I see waves. Invitation Consultants is located in Tampa Bay, but that doesn't mean we get to enjoy summer year round! It still gets chilly, rainy, and icky. That's why we get really excited when we start to see invitation orders for summer parties roll in. This year, we've seen a surprising amount of 4th of July wedding invitation orders! The 4th of July is on a Sunday this year, so many brides and grooms are turning the patriotic holiday into the perfect wedding weekend. Above is some inspiration if you are considering an Americana themed wedding or a wedding during Independence Day weekend!
From left to right:
4th of July Themed Wedding Invitations: It may seem fairly obvious, but red and blue are the classic choice for an Americana themed wedding. This doesn't mean you have to have stars and stripes on your wedding stationery. Subtle themes like monograms, pretty patterns, and oversized flowers are perfect for a summertime fete. My favorites are Initially Floral (by Preston Bailey for Invitation Consultants), Adriatic Red, and Blue Nottingham.
Crepe-Paper Crackers: These crepe-paper crackers from Martha Stewart can double as place cards and conversation starters. You can insert trivia about the bride and groom and place them on the tables as decor, or even fill them with trinkets for the little ones at your wedding. Consider old-time American toys like jacks and pick up sticks.
Some inspiration from the Knot: The Knot has a whole section of Americana themed wedding inspiration, including reception ideas for backyard weddings, a guide to wedding dresses designed and created in the US, and a gallery of vintage dresses perfect for all-American inspiration. My favorite feature is their real weddings from July 4th celebrations past including these adorable red shoes from Kelsey, a bride in Pensacola, FL. Kelsey said she was inspired by the carnival scene in the Notebook. SO SWEET! Another perfect detail is Gabe's, a groom from Maine, nautical boutonniere and tie.
Bridesmaid Dresses: This new arrival from Kate Spade could not be more perfect for a 4th of July wedding. The ruffled neckline and detailed waist is just too adorable and fits the color scheme of an Americana themed wedding perfectly.
So, what do you think? Would you ever say your 'I DO's!' to a background of flying flags and bursting fireworks?
