If you were a bride, you may experience what I call EWW. Extreme Wedding Withdrawal. EWW happens to the best of us. Our weddings come, they go, and we're left with residual planning energy. I've heard of ways for coping with EWW: taking up a hobby, having a baby, starting a new career, redecorating, throwing parties, etc. My favorite way to cope with EWW is to just enjoy being married and spending time with my new spouse. I snuck in a Trash the Dress photo shoot 6 months after our wedding as a way of band aiding my EWW.
Well, my spouse isn't so new anymore. We've been married two years and are crazy happy, but I still get EWW. This line of work is difficult because I'm surrounded by wedding invites all day long, just reminding me how much fun it was to be a bride. My husband is aware of my EWW issue and that's where this little special story comes in:
We were planning our summer vacation back in December and we decided we wanted to go somewhere our friends could go with us. None of our Bff's have been out west, so we decided on 2 days in Vegas and then 3 days in Los Angeles coniciding with the week of our 2 year wedding anniversary. The trip was booked, 4 of our friends were on board by January, and the planning had begun. My husband is an accountant, so of course our planning had to involve an Excel sheet with an itinerary. I quickly realized that what happens in Vegas, will be well documented and accounted for. I was reading the itinerary and on the first night in Vegas, it was noted:
7:00 p.m. Pink Limo to pick us up at hotel
8:00 p.m. Renew wedding vowels with Elvis
8:30 p.m. Dance
I thought it was a joke- a hilarious, strange joke. John, my aforementioned husband, assured me it wasn't and that I should start planning. It's one of the best presents he could ever give me. A week later, I was in possession of the J Crew Rebecca wedding dress in ivory featured above. I let our 4 friends know, and they immediately thought it was a joke. I guess an Elvis vow renewal after only 2 years of marriage isn't something you hear everyday.
The vow renewal celebration is only 19 days away now. I am not going overboard with the planning, but I am going to get some cute stuff in a little color scheme I love: black, ivory, red, and pink. Here's the dress, the dreamy shoes, feather headband from Etsy seller kaang, and a black and red Bombs Away Love Note tie from Etsy seller toybreaker for my husband.
We're not doing invites, but if we were, they would be Love on the Strip.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and indulge my EWW. Tell me, do you or a loved one have EWW? How do you cope?

Post is too cute!!!
After only 2+ years of marriage, I also have EWW. I guess my way of coping is by taking my business, Address to Impress, to the next level. In January, we started manufacturing our designs as imprintable invitations. Business is booming so it's been a nice distraction to the wedding withdrawal.
Congrats on your vow renewal. I'm jealous!

Our 4 year anniversary will be next month. I totally have EWW. It does not help that I work with wedding photographers a lot. It does not help at all! I try to take it out on friends getting married all the time...but I want more control! I am SO JEALOUS of these plans! So freaking cute! I have mentioned to my husband I wanted to do something like this for our 5th...he alwasy thinks I am crazy and that you don't renew vows after 5 years.
SO JEALOUS! And seriously - I'm buying that headband right now!
