Last week, I posted of my anticipation of The National Stationery Show. I've been to New York and back, and I can say I was not disappointed (except for the dismal weather)! The show offered me the opportunity to chat with the people behind the brands we offer, view their latest and greatest products, and get a sneak peak at upcoming trends.
Here's a short list of the trends that really stood out that we will be sure to add to our site for your enjoyment:
- Colorful envelope linings everywhere!
- Recessionista friendly invitations that leave off embellishments but don't skimp on style
- Glitter used on everything from baby to wedding
- Light green and yellow as a color combo (in addition to the gorgeous albums, the Vera Wang booth displayed a light green wedding dress- a true taffeta confection).
Overall, the show was a lot of fun and there was inspiration everywhere. While many people were singing the same song of recession blues, the show was a testiment to the resilience of the invitation and stationery industry and proved that even through tough times, people love to celebrate.
