When I saw the simplicity of these love stamps, I paired them up  with some of the save the dates we offer. They can be purchased online too just like our products. It was meant to be! cute cute cute! I love stamp designs and always upgrade at the post office for something more expressive than your standard stamp.

Sketches

This past week, Brides.com shared exclusive runway sneak peaks of designer wedding gowns coming Spring 2010. The rough sketches are so beautiful, it's hard to imagine how gorgeous the gowns will be. the gowns from left to right are from Jenny Lee,  Monique Lhullier, Jim Hjelm, and the Jewel Collection from Priscilla of Boston Bridal Group. You can also find a breath taking sketch on 100 Layer Cake, complete with an inpiration board of peach ruffles, flouncy feathers and funky taffeta.

Not Kidding Around

Since moving to a new city a couple of months ago, I have been out and about, doing my share of exploring.  Last weekend, I (finally) found myself at the design center of the world, the IKEA store.  For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of visiting, it is basically a giant 4 level store, filled with enough décor ideas to make even a seasoned interior designers’ head spin.  What really stood out to me was the selection of kids’ furniture.  I saw colorful furniture, trendy colors, bright light fixtures, and everything else you would need to make your child’s bedroom  one that you would be proud of.  And it’s not just IKEA.  Pottery Barn Kids has amazing designs to furnish a bedroom, from furniture to décor and even linens.  Designs for children’s bedrooms rival their parent’s in some instances!

It got me thinking about kids’ invitations.  The trendy designs are similar to the latest and greatest furniture designs.  The newest party invitations for kids come in creative shapes and bright colors.  They are anything but boring.  So do you see any similarities between what you like to use for room designs for your children and the invitations that you choose for them?  Let us know!

It's Prom Time

I love this time of year. It is not only spring, it is also Prom Time. It is so cute to go out to dinner on a Saturday night and see high school juniors and seniors dressed up for a night on the town for prom. Back in the early 90's prom fashion was a little different. For my junior high (which no one says junior high anymore..it's middle school) I wore blue (my least favorite color) taffeta with poofy sleeves (that was late 80's). Anyways for my prom I wore a black spandex dress with rhinestones. Fashion faux pas or not?

Prom is so much fun because they play music that you will never forget. Our high school prom song was by Alphaville, Forever Young. I do not remember the invitation that we had for the event but I am guessing it was bland. But we get to see many fabulous invitations come our way for prom. Check these out:

I saw this cool cradle posted on poppytalk this morning by mowak.se. I love the simplicity of it and the look of the room. Of course it's designed by the effortlessly modern Swedish folks! I am not a mommy however so from a parents point of view... What do you think?

Happy Spring! Birds are in the Air

Happy Spring 2009! Hopefully the weather where you are is getting warmer. It is also a great time to start planning spring parties like: barbecues, luncheons, boat parties and gardening parties. Since the grass is green and the flowers are blooming, don't forget the birds chirping and flying around.

Birds are a particularly trendy element on wedding invitations this season. Two loving birds are a strong choice for wedding invitations because they are unique, tender and colorful.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Every wedding that I have ever been to is special.  But when your best friend of twelve years gets married, special doesn’t begin to cover it.  A couple of months ago, my best friend, Kristen, got married in Breckenridge, Colorado.  This was my first destination wedding, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  What I found that Breckenridge was an amazing backdrop for the wedding of Kristen’s dreams.  Here’s what she had to say about it…

 

“I fell in love with Colorado when I learned to ski in Breckenridge. The skies are so blue and the mountains are beautiful! When I started planning my wedding all I could picture was a winter wedding in Colorado. I knew a destination wedding would be hard to pull off but we made it happen and it was amazing!   My favorite moment was walking down the aisle to ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ but a close second was seeing the reception site completely set up. It was like the year of planning had finally paid off and my vision had come to life! Looking around and seeing all of my friends and family together was surreal.”
