Fall ’09 Trends straight from New York Fashion Week
New York, NY - Season to season the runway dictates the trends to come & this year was no different. There is no hiding that we are in economic cross roads, where American designers may have chosen to scale back on venues & the grandeur of shows, but it was NOT reflected in the quality of the collections.
For Fall ’09 it is all about smart & simplified with that special stand out detail.
Trends to use as a guide:
Texture: rich heavy fabrics, jacquard, heathers
Silhouette: structured, voluminous, geometric, asymmetric
Colors: gray – all shades of warm gray, cream / ivory, black- contrast with stark whites, metallic / shine
Accent colors: the IT color- Fuchsia, neons- acid green, hot pink & caution orange, true purple
Notables: dramatic & romantic, frills & rosettes, soft & ultra feminine, lots of coverage: think warmth / hibernation/ cocoon
