Way back in September of 2008, when most of us were getting ready for kids to go back to school and see autumn leaves fall, the fashion industry was getting ready for spring 2009 at Fashion Week in New York. While we may have been thinking pumpkins and Halloween, the global experts of color were thinking of spring blooms and vibrant hues. Pantone, the authority on color, influences all facets of design-- from clothing, to home, and stationery. Pantone has predicted that this season we'll be seeing bright colors paired with with deeper, translucent or neutral tones. You can find a whole report of spring colors here, including sketches from top designers like Reem Acra, Nanette Lapore, Rebecca Taylor (who's sketch is featured above), and Kimora Lee Simmons. To bring color and style to paper, shop invitations by color or colorful stationery.
Featured above, pantone spring colors lavender, salmon rose, palace blue, dark citron, super lemon, lucite green, fuchsia red, rose dust, slate gray, and vibrant green. A sketch by Rebecca Taylor, Pearly Pink Shimmer Invitation by William Arthur, and Birds of a Feather Invitation by Red Leaf Papers.
