Are You Calling Me a Gossiper?

Gone are the days of junior high sleepovers, where gossiping was the main event. Gone are the days of slipping gossip filled notes in your best friend's locker in high school. Gone are the days of passing notes to your friends in chemistry class about the boy sitting at the station next to you. So how do we 20 and 30 - somethings relive these frivolous times? My aha moment is, Bridal Showers! Yes, these showers represent fun times when it is still ok to gossip about your fiance (aka boyfriend) and his friends (because they are not married to your friends yet). So if you combine gossip and shower, you get a Gossip Girl inspired Bridal Shower. Genius!

How do you throw a Gossip Girl inspired Bridal Shower:

1. Find a friend who is getting married (this is key) 2. Recreate the Upper East Side. Find an ultra posh restaurant. 3. Give out trendy party favors like mini gems teaholders. Because any party favor you give out should have some bling. 4. Find chic and stylish invitations that are fru fru. 5. Select food and drink items like: mimosas, caviar, salmon mousse on endive, edamame encrusted tuna, and petite fours. 6. There are plenty of generic games to play at lunch, but why not be different? Have a fashion guru come to talk to the group, either a stylist or designer. 7. spend the rest of the afternoon shopping or window shopping at the trendiest boutiques in town 8. Gossip, gossip and more gossip.
