What's with all the twins these days? Twins touch our lives in many ways because they are everywhere. Even I have twins! And in my twin's class there are 5 sets of twins! The most common types of twins are identical and fraternal and even within these types there are more types. Think about it, in your inner circle, you must have at least one set of twins in your family or clique or at work. The twin invasion has begun.
Could you have twins? According to wikipedia.com, about 1 in 90 births results in twins. Fraternal can run in families but identical can happen to anyone, as it did to me!
Twins mean double the fun, not double the trouble and companies are taking notice that there are more twins than ever. So if you are having twins, take a peek at my 4 recommendations for the best twin products out there....this comes from me, a mom of twins.
Before, I start did you know the following celebrities are twins: Keifer Sutherland, Alanis Morrisette, Scarlett Johansson, even Patrick Dempsey has twins!
4 Must haves for Twins
1. Start with the cutest twin birth announcements ever. For example, Peapod is my favorite. Because twins are so close from before birth and throughout their life; they look snug as a bug in this peapod birth announcement. You need to send a birth announcement that will stand out on your friend's refrigerator.
2. The cutest, sweetest personalized stationery is a necessity. Peapod Stationery is a perfect match for your twins! Emails can be so impersonal, so what better way to thank everyone for double the gifts than with adorbale stationery.
3. The most durable stroller ever, the Graco Quanttro Tour. I do not recommend the side by side, it is impossible to get thru store aisles. The front to back is easy to maneuver and allows one to sleep in the back. Plus when they get older, it is so much fun to poke your sibling in the neck! If you remember strollers in the 80's and 90's were so boring, either blue or pink, but nowadays we have patterns and mochas mixed with limes. Strollers are now a fashion accessory!
4. Dress your twins alike until they are 2 (if they are the same gender) and after that give them their own identity. When they get older they will develop their own style, so definitely use these early years to help them shape some sense of style. Stay away from cliche shirts and matchy matchy outfits and choose offbeat colors, like bright lemon, tangy lime and mango orange! Shop cute boutiques.
Double the fun!
