Last week I went to see the Cure in concert. I have been listening to new wave music quite a bit over the past year. So, I have become really inspired to plan an 80's themed party.
My point is: you don't have to be a 30-something to have an 80's party, you just need an appreciation for innovative music, bright colors and bad fashion. So invite your friends to an 80's party: serve cheetos and doritos as a snack, and be casual, because it's all about the music. Encourage your guests to dig their jean jackets and cut off jeans out of the closet and come on over as you reminisce about junior high and high school or recite lines from Sixteen Candles and the Breakfast Club. I think I will take my advice and throw one of these parties, at least before the new decade of the 2010's.
Tip: At 80's parties you must speak the language, which includes, like, ya know and for sure.
